The Athlete of the month for August speaks for himself! This guy has been a perfect example of what we pride ourselves on here at South Charlotte Crossfit (NFQ). Darin McEntee has continued to work hard, stay CONSISTENT, and show up day in and day out, no matter what the workout is, and give it everything he’s got. I see this guy regularly staying after class to work on his weaknesses, and it’s definitely paying off. When Darin isn’t on call at work, or out on the lake, you’ll usually catch him at the noon class working hard. It’s always a pleasure getting to coach Darin not only because he cares, but he also takes direction and tries his best to apply the advice he receives from us coaches, and that doesn’t go unappreciated, Darin. Thank you for the dedication, and we’re all beyond stoked to have you as a part of our community!

Here is a short survey Darin filled out, so take a minute to get to know a fellow member of the box!

    1.  How were you introduced to Crossfit?  I was introduced to Crossfit by my then girlfriend and now wife, Naureen Qazi.  I’m still trying to keep up with her during the WODs.
    2. Favorite exercise.  Anything that makes my chest bigger!
    3. Nemesis exercises.   I still need a lot of work on HSPU, DU’s, MU’s, and PU’s.
    4. Proudest Crossfit Accomplishment.  I feel very good when I can finish a workout under the time cap (if there is one).  Learning all the different movements is a difficult task and certainly takes time and commitment, so when I started getting toes-to-bar I was pretty happy!
    5. If I created a WOD and named it after myself, the workout would be…

  1. Overall 6 month goal.  I would like to be proficient with the movements.  Double unders.  Butterfly pull ups.  Hand stand push ups. Toes to bar. Muscle ups.  Snatch.
  2. What I love most about SCCF.  This one is easy!  The coaches and members.  The coaches are the best.  Very motivating and give great feedback before, during and after the workout.  The members are all very helpful and willing to give tips on whatever I ask.  It is a great, positive environment that I am proud to be a part of.
